Senior Prevent Adviser

Chris Williams is Senior Prevent Adviser at the Office for Security and Counter Terrorism at the UK Home Office, supporting local authorities with delivering counter-terrorism policy and developing a national sector-led peer support model to share good practice and drive improvement in service delivery.

Prior to joining the Home Office Chris was Head of Community Protection at the London Borough of Brent, a Tier 1 Prevent Priority Area, where he ran a broad range of services including anti-social behaviour, offender management, CCTV, gangs and serious youth violence and domestic abuse.

Educated at the universities of Leicester and Exeter, Chris has also worked at the Local Government Association, the National Policing Improvement Agency and the London Borough of Merton.
